Here at Labor Bros, we've hauled away an incredible amount of junk since we opened our doors. Whether it's the hundreds of unsightly, heavy mattresses or old, unusable TVs, our crew has hauled some serious junk over the years. For each truckload of junk that we remove from a home or business, we work hard to donate applicable items and recycle others, to give back to the community and keep it clean.
When it comes to junk removal in Lake Worth, FL, here are some of the most common items we remove:
Even the best mattresses will need to be replaced with enough time. Over the years, your mattress will begin to break down, causing you more pain than pleasure when your head hits the pillow. When your quality of sleep is affected, so too is your day-to-day life and wellbeing. To make matters worse, your old mattress is a haven for dead skin cells, hair, and even bugs. When it gets to this point, it's time to get rid of your mattress. Unfortunately, that can be easier said than done, especially if you're working 40 hours a week and must balance a family too. Luckily, the Labor Bros can remove your old mattress quicker than it takes you to snooze on a Sunday afternoon.
Labor Bros Pro Tip: Mattress parts like steel springs, wooden frames, and coils can often be donated or recycled. Our team is happy to handle this part of the junk removal process, so you don't have to!
If you plan on upgrading your kitchen, chances are you will need to update your old fridge too. Refrigerators are notorious for being big, clunky, hazardous appliances to remove. Most folks don't want to deal with the lengthy process of removing the appliance and disposing of it safely. That's where the Labor Bros come in! Whether you have a regular-sized fridge at your home or several large chest freezers at your business, the Labor Bros are here to haul them away today.
Labor Bros Pro Tip: Remember, many refrigerators and freezers have harmful chemicals that need to be disposed of properly. The Labor Bros always take these hazards into account, so you don't risk your health. Once these materials have been dealt with, our junk removal experts will either donate your unwanted fridge or haul it to the appropriate recycling facility.
With new technology and features debuting every other day, it's no surprise that we haul away old TVs every day. Whether you're moving to a new home or just want a new TV, we can remove your old flat screen quickly and safely. Our customers choose the Labor Bros for their TV removal not just because we're fast and effective, but because many modern TVs contain hazardous materials. Once our team removes your old TV from your home or business, we'll make sure your TV is disposed of in an eco-friendly manner.
In addition to our junk removal services, Labor Bros also offers the highest quality general labor services in South Carolina. In today's fast-paced world, many home and business owners don't have the time or staff to handle labor-intensive jobs like garage cleanouts and yard debris removal. There's no need to call in a favor with your best friend or father-in-law. Contact the Labor Bros for fast, efficient service for any of your general labor projects. We save you time, money, and the possibility of injuring yourself or your friends.
If you own a home, you probably know how frustrating it can be to keep up with odd jobs around the house. Sometimes, you need a little more than a helping hand - you need a team of experienced professionals to get the job done right. And that, in a nutshell, is why we founded Labor Bros - to give good people like you the chance to keep their homes looking great, inside and out. Here are just a few of the most common general labor jobs we complete for homeowners in South Carolina:
If you're anything like us, your garage space doubles as a storage unit. Over time, the items you store in your garage can pile up. Often, these items go unused for years, essentially becoming junk right before your eyes. At some point, you will need all that junk and debris cleaned out. When you want it done right, it's time to call the Labor Bros. Our team will not only remove the junk from your garage - we'll clean your garage afterward, so it looks and feels like it was brand new.
Cleaning up your yard debris can be a real pain in the butt. You need the right clothes to protect your legs and arms, gloves for your hands, possibly a back brace, and a lot of patience. After you're done, you're bound to need a shower and a long break. With all that in mind, it's no wonder why so many South Carolina residents call the Labor Bros for yard debris removal! Our general labor techs have cleaned up dozens if not hundreds of yards, and they can help you too. We make yard debris cleanup easy by taking everything: limbs, leaves, grass clippings, wood chips, and more. Simply click or call, and we'll haul it all!
If you just bought a new couch or desk but don't have the time to set it up yourself, call the Labor Bros for a fast solution. Whether you're moving into a new home and you need help mounting your TV, or you need a large piece of furniture assembled, we can do it all.
At Labor Bros, we don't just serve homeowners - we offer general labor and junk removal services for businesses too. All businesses generate junk in some form or fashion. Tens of thousands of Palm Beach County residents lacked electricity on Thursday afternoon after Hurricane Milton tore through Florida.
Florida Power & Light Co. reported 24,270 customers in the county experiencing power outages. About 118,000 customers countywide lost power. The company serves about 784,000 households and businesses countywide.
FPL's local outages were declining steadily throughout the day as Milton moved offshore.
Meanwhile, outages in Lake Worth Beach spiked abruptly mid-morning when an explosion disrupted the utility's operations, the city's mayor said.
Lake Worth Beach Electric Utility, which serves both Lake Worth Beach and Palm Springs, reported at 10 a.m. that nearly all of its roughly 27,000 customers lost power.
By noon, most service had been restored to all but a few dozen customers, the city reported at about 1:45 p.m.
The citywide outage occurred just before 10 a.m. when an explosion cut the city's line to FPL, Mayor Betty Resch said.
"Right in my neighborhood, my neighbors heard a two-part bang," she said.
The city's "tie line" to FPL severed, she said, adding that the city receives electrical power through the affected line.
Resch said she didn't know whether the tie-line rupture affected Palm Springs residents, whose electricity is also provided by Lake Worth Beach's electric utility.
The city also lost power around 2:30 a.m. Thursday for about 90 minutes, during the worst of Hurricane Milton.
Statewide, more than 3 million Floridians awoke in darkened homes without power, with outages especially concentrated on the west coast where Milton made landfall Wednesday evening, according to PowerOutage.us, a website that tracks outages nationwide.
FPL, Florida’s largest electricity provider, said it had a restoration workforce of 14,500 prepared to begin restoring power across the state.
“I want to assure our customers we are prepared and will be working around the clock to restore power,” FPL CEO Armando Pimentel said in a statement.

Two communities in southern Palm Beach County — Lake Charleston and Boca Chase — received special permission from the Lake Worth Drainage District to release water from their lakes into district canals ahead of Hurricane Milton.
Executive Director Tommy Strowd said the district agreed to allow the discharges because Lake Charleston in suburban Boynton Beach sustained a collapsed culvert, and a part of Boca Chase’s storm water retention system west of Boca Raton had become compromised. The discharges occurred over a 24-hour period that has since ended.
Strowd said the district has thus far denied requests from scores of other communities as he is concerned about the discharges overwhelming its canal system and endangering the water quality.

"We have received hundreds of calls from residents in developments adjacent to our canals," said Strowd. "We know they are nervous. The water level is high, but we don't expect the situation to be any worse than street flooding. We can make adjustments if need be, but the rainfall amounts should not be greater than another inch or two."
He noted that nearly 4 inches of rain fell on Sunday throughout the entire district that encompasses, for the most part, Okeechobee Boulevard to the Hillsboro Canal (or Broward County line) and from State Road 7 to Interstate 95, an area that covers 200 square miles.
As a result of downpours on Sunday, the district discharged about as much as it possibly can from its canals into those overseen by the South Florida Water Management District. There is a need to keep water out of the canals, he noted.
“We are concerned about feeder bands hitting the area,” Strowd said. “Once the storm passes, we can take another look at allowing discharges from the communities into our canals.”

He noted that the systems allow for water to overflow naturally from lakes at developments adjacent to district canals into those canals. There are also weirs or gates that can be opened to allow for a much more rapid discharge of water, but Strowd said the district allows that to occur only if there is a possibility of water flooding homes.
"We do not see that happening," he added, "although there could be temporary ponding in streets and low-lying areas."
Rainfall has not been limited since Sunday, and the forecast is not calling for a repeat of the heavy rains that recently occurred, Strowd said. Residents can report flooding emergencies via the district's online Public Events Reports website at lwdd.net/storm-response or at 561-498-5363 or eoc@lwdd.net.

Lake Worth Beach's hip downtown recently took its culinary coolness level up a few notches with the addition of Not So Bizaare Ave Cafe?.
Owned and operated by chef Lisa "Aloha-Lani" Mercado, this funky, bohemian restaurant officially opened its doors on Lake Avenue in August. If the name sounds familiar, it should, as it references the once-beloved restaurant Bizaare Ave Cafe? that closed around 2013.
Once a thriving spot known for offbeat furnishings, mismatched plates and cutlery and a great vibe, the restaurant changed ownership in the mid-2000s and Mercado said it just wasn't the same. If anyone would know, Mercado likely would as she was Bizaare Ave Cafe?'s dessert chef and known for her award-winning peanut butter pie. Even more, one of her sisters was the manager and two more worked as servers. Mercado said all four of them left not long after the sale.
After living in Hawaii on the island of Kauai for two years, Mercado moved back to Florida last year and worked with local brewmaster Dave Mathews to get his new restaurant Mathews Brewing Co. Scratch Kitchen up and running. That experience prompted her to feel like doing something on her own and expressing her own creativity.
No stranger to the South Florida restaurant and food scene, Mercado owned and operated the Red Lion Pub at Boynton Beach Boulevard and Military Trail, Boca Muse, the Living Room and Ravish in Lantana. When she found out that the original Bizaare Ave Cafe? space on Lake Avenue had become available she immediately reached out and worked out a deal.
Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.
Though the space had been painted gray inside and "had a cafeteria sort of feel," Mercado and her team worked hard to bring back the look and feel of the old Bizaare.
Mercado said she thinks they got it right, especially after one married couple that frequented the original came in and exclaimed "This is awesome! We sat right in this spot when I proposed to my wife."
Recapturing the original "funky, bohemian" vibe was made easier with a few people donating pieces of antique furniture.
She said they even managed to match the upstairs blue paint color that had been in the original Bizaare and added the gold Fleur-de-lis like it had.
Additionally, the walls are adorned with local artwork that is for sale with 100% of the money going to the artists.
Though getting the look right was important, Mercado said she wanted the menu to include new offerings as well as dishes from the original that really stood out.
"Some of the big sellers that were on the original Bizaare Ave Cafe? menu included the baked brie, crepes and peanut butter pie," she said. They are all available again.
Getting those recipes just right wasn't as difficult as it could have been after she managed to contact one of the former chefs who still had an original cookbook.
Though the restaurant has only open a short while, Mercado said the short rib and the gorgonzola crisps, featuring house-made potato chips with a honey-gorgonzola sauce, are already big hits.
Another dish, the Huli Huli Chicken, influenced by her time on Kauai, is becoming extremely popular. Mercado said it starts with an organic airline chicken breast or Statler cut (skin-on boneless chicken breast with the first joint of the wing attached) that is pan seared for crispness, baked and served with house-made pineapple-guava teriyaki sauce, coconut rice and salad with a house-made lilikoi dressing.
For dessert, though the peanut butter pie is an award winner, Mercado's Italian Key Lime pie is no slouch in the taste and decadence department and coming on fast as a contender for top dessert.
In this spin on the Florida classic, Mercado said she whips marscarpone cheese into sweetened condensed milk and key lime juice, pours filling into a graham cracker crust and then tops with a salted meringue before baking.
Featuring live music on Fridays and Saturdays, Mercado said she is "the queen of atmosphere" and keeps the volume at the perfect level to enhance, and not override, the dining experience.
Thrilled that so many former customers have already found their way back, Mercado said that when the opportunity to recreate this classic spot became available she said "I had to get it because it has a lot of meaning to me."
