When it comes to junk removal in Orlando, FL, here are some of the most common items we remove:
Even the best mattresses will need to be replaced with enough time. Over the years, your mattress will begin to break down, causing you more pain than pleasure when your head hits the pillow. When your quality of sleep is affected, so too is your day-to-day life and wellbeing. To make matters worse, your old mattress is a haven for dead skin cells, hair, and even bugs. When it gets to this point, it's time to get rid of your mattress. Unfortunately, that can be easier said than done, especially if you're working 40 hours a week and must balance a family too. Luckily, the Labor Bros can remove your old mattress quicker than it takes you to snooze on a Sunday afternoon.
Labor Bros Pro Tip: Mattress parts like steel springs, wooden frames, and coils can often be donated or recycled. Our team is happy to handle this part of the junk removal process, so you don't have to!
If you plan on upgrading your kitchen, chances are you will need to update your old fridge too. Refrigerators are notorious for being big, clunky, hazardous appliances to remove. Most folks don't want to deal with the lengthy process of removing the appliance and disposing of it safely. That's where the Labor Bros come in! Whether you have a regular-sized fridge at your home or several large chest freezers at your business, the Labor Bros are here to haul them away today.
Labor Bros Pro Tip: Remember, many refrigerators and freezers have harmful chemicals that need to be disposed of properly. The Labor Bros always take these hazards into account, so you don't risk your health. Once these materials have been dealt with, our junk removal experts will either donate your unwanted fridge or haul it to the appropriate recycling facility.
With new technology and features debuting every other day, it's no surprise that we haul away old TVs every day. Whether you're moving to a new home or just want a new TV, we can remove your old flat screen quickly and safely. Our customers choose the Labor Bros for their TV removal not just because we're fast and effective, but because many modern TVs contain hazardous materials. Once our team removes your old TV from your home or business, we'll make sure your TV is disposed of in an eco-friendly manner.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — SNAP participation is continuing to fall nationwide, and Florida has seen one of the largest declines as local organizations in Central Florida report more families seeking help with food.
New USDA data shows about 36.6 million people received benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program in May, down from more than 42 million a year earlier. In Florida, SNAP participation has dropped nearly 20% since July 2025.
In Orlando, Brianna Sawchuk said she and her son, Enzo, had relied on SNAP benefits until she was recently found ineligible after reapplying.
“I was on food stamps. And then when I did my reapply, I didn’t get approved,” Sawchuk said. “They said I was ineligible and I uploaded all the documents that (were) needed.”
Sawchuk said her only income has come from DoorDash. She said she submitted a work calendar showing how much she made each day.
“It was barely much anything at all,” she said. “And they still said it wasn’t eligible.”
The decline comes after new federal rules passed in July 2025 tightened SNAP eligibility and expanded work requirements. The Trump administration also pointed to efforts to reduce fraud.
“Because of these eligibility requirements, people are not going to fall off. At the same time, this is going monthly. So all the other people that are coming up in the fourth quarter, their eligibility might be, you know, at risk as well,” said Anjali Vaya, executive director of United Against Poverty in Orlando.
Vaya says they work with families across Central Florida through a grocery program that offers free membership to people below 200% of the federal poverty level. Vaya said the organization has seen an increase in new memberships, including families with children.
Advocates say the loss of SNAP benefits can also affect children who qualify for school meal programs.
“Many kids that receive free and reduced meals during the school year are able to do so because they are eligible based on their family SNAP enrollment,” said Sky Beard, Florida director of No Kid Hungry. “And so there is definitely a connection between families participating in SNAP.”
As more families face challenges, food banks and other organizations are working to fill the gap.
“We’re currently putting enough food out the door for 300,000 meals a day,” said Greg Higgerson, chief development officer for Second Harvest of Central Florida. “But it’s important to have the context of knowing that the SNAP program provides nine meals for every meal that a food bank like ours is able to do.”
Higgerson said Second Harvest of Central Florida is seeing increased need compared with this time last year.
For families like Sawchuk’s, local food resources are helping them make ends meet while they try to regain benefits.
“It’s a huge help,” Sawchuk said. “But hopefully, I can get them back soon.”

ORLANDO, Fla. — The 2026 college football season kicks off with Week 0 games this weekend, marking the unofficial start of the year.
Camping World Stadium in downtown Orlando has hosted four season-opening marquee games in the past, like Alabama against Louisville and Florida versus Miami. The last one was in 2023 when Florida State took on LSU.
But it doesn't have any of those games this season.
Florida Citrus Sports Chief Executive Officer Steve Hogan said the sports organization wants to get more Week 0 games in the future but that it is going to have to buy into some of those games.
"Maybe buy some games and move them," Hogan said. "You're going to have arranged marriages."
This year will mark the third in a row that downtown Orlando won't host Week 0 games.
"The kickoff games really are something that are going to be important to the cadence of energy every single season," Hogan said.
"And it takes money, right? It takes money. And if you've been paying attention in college athletics, money wins the day right now, and it's going to for a long time."
Hogan said Florida Citrus Sports recently received approval from Orange County's Sports Incentive Committee for at least some annual funding for 2028-2030 as it seeks to attract those games.
Athletes and college coaches speak highly of the experience of playing in Orlando.
ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit said he has fond memories of playing in Orlando when he was at Ohio State. He also was on the broadcast team for LSU-Florida State in 2023.
"Opening weekend and you get big brands in a town like this, it's a home run," Herbstreit said. "People are already anxious for college football, and if you can get a matchup like that, to be able to showcase some high-profile talent, and especially if it's teams that are highly ranked brands that are recognizable, to me, it's a grand slam. Where else would you want to play than here to kick off the season?"
Former UCF and current Tennessee coach Josh Heupel knows the area well firsthand and led the Volunteers to the 2024 Citrus Bowl.
"The city of Orlando itself is a great venue, great destination for fan bases," Heupel said. "They do a great job hosting the teams."
The college football calendar keeps evolving with the talk of playoff expansion, raising questions about whether it's worth it in terms of raising their profiles for teams to schedule marquee games early in the season.
Even when teams agree to them, high-profile, nonconference games are scheduled years in advance.
Florida played in the Week 0 game at Camping World Stadium in 2019.
"There's always open for conversation on could there be a Week 0 game," first-year Gators coach Jon Sumrall said. "What does that look like, opponent-wise, location, all those things? My response is never no. It's always like, 'Yeah, that could make sense'."
Florida Citrus Sports officials said they are also looking at other opportunities to bring major-college games to the stadium. The ultimate would be hosting a national championship game or another iconic game, Hogan said.
"Army-Navy, which we're going to go hard after again, which is essentially a national championship game if you really look at it, standalone date, just the architecture around it from military complex retirees," Hogan said. "That is a beast of an event. And we want that."
Right now, Camping World Stadium is undergoing a $400 million renovation as it prepares to host the NFL's Jaguars in 2027 while Jacksonville's stadium undergoes an overhaul. That will mark the first time Camping World Stadium will host an NFL regular-season game.
Hogan said Florida Citrus Sports wants events in Orlando year-round, with football and pro football at the center of them all.
