When it comes to junk removal in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, here are some of the most common items we remove:
Even the best mattresses will need to be replaced with enough time. Over the years, your mattress will begin to break down, causing you more pain than pleasure when your head hits the pillow. When your quality of sleep is affected, so too is your day-to-day life and wellbeing. To make matters worse, your old mattress is a haven for dead skin cells, hair, and even bugs. When it gets to this point, it's time to get rid of your mattress. Unfortunately, that can be easier said than done, especially if you're working 40 hours a week and must balance a family too. Luckily, the Labor Bros can remove your old mattress quicker than it takes you to snooze on a Sunday afternoon.
Labor Bros Pro Tip: Mattress parts like steel springs, wooden frames, and coils can often be donated or recycled. Our team is happy to handle this part of the junk removal process, so you don't have to!
If you plan on upgrading your kitchen, chances are you will need to update your old fridge too. Refrigerators are notorious for being big, clunky, hazardous appliances to remove. Most folks don't want to deal with the lengthy process of removing the appliance and disposing of it safely. That's where the Labor Bros come in! Whether you have a regular-sized fridge at your home or several large chest freezers at your business, the Labor Bros are here to haul them away today.
Labor Bros Pro Tip: Remember, many refrigerators and freezers have harmful chemicals that need to be disposed of properly. The Labor Bros always take these hazards into account, so you don't risk your health. Once these materials have been dealt with, our junk removal experts will either donate your unwanted fridge or haul it to the appropriate recycling facility.
With new technology and features debuting every other day, it's no surprise that we haul away old TVs every day. Whether you're moving to a new home or just want a new TV, we can remove your old flat screen quickly and safely. Our customers choose the Labor Bros for their TV removal not just because we're fast and effective, but because many modern TVs contain hazardous materials. WELLINGTON, Fla. — While many in our five-county area are picking up the pieces left behind by last week’s storms, local leaders are starting to plot the storms’ paths.
WPTV’s Michael Hoffman walks us through the paths of the terrible twisters.
“The extent of the damage here in a short amount of time in a concentrated area is unlike anything we’ve seen,” said Wellington Village Manager Jim Barnes.
Wellington Village Manager Jim Barnes shows the mapped path of an EF3 tornado. The 20-mile track, with 140 mph winds, ripped through Wellington, Loxahatchee, Palm Beach Gardens and Jupiter.
“To see that damage and to understand that there were people in the vicinity of that damage, it’s difficult to comprehend how somebody, or others, were not more seriously injured or, worse case, fatally injured,” said Barnes.
The WPTV First Alert weather team has been hard at work plotting the latest on six other tornadoes we saw in our area. From an EF1 and EF2 in Stuart ripping through the Mariner Sands community, to three EF0s hitting Dixie Ranch Acres in Okeechobee, to a devastating 21-mile EF3 cutting through Lakewood Park claiming six lives in the Spanish Lakes community.
“All in all, at least 8 to 900 structures that have some impact,” said George Landry, St Lucie County’s administrator.
It’s something Chief Meteorologist Steve Weagle has never seen before.
“It’s incredible,” said Weagle.
He’s been forecasting weather in South Florida for 30 years, and walks us through the unprecedented nature of the tornadoes.
“In this case we had conditions similar to what they see in the Midwest,” said Weagle. “It’s what we call a dry line. It’s just dry air that’s getting sucked into the center of the hurricane and it enhances all the dynamics for stronger storms and longer track storms. Some of these tornadoes were on the ground 15 to 20 miles, which is unheard of here.”
Lives will be forever changed now that homes, lives and dreams have been reduced to piles of rubble as the clean up and further recovery enter into the eighth day.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — Residents in a Palm Beach Gardens community are cleaning days after an EF3 tornado tore through their community, ripping off roofs on brand new, well-built homes and causing structural damage.
The tornado with 140 mph winds caused people's roofs to litter roadways.
WPTV reporter T.A. Walker saw residents who live in La Terre at Avenir with blue tarps on their homes Friday. There were also homes with the whole roof exposed, shingles ripped off the rooftop.
Federal Emergency Management Agency met with homeowners at the Sandhill Crane clubhouse in Palm Beach Gardens at around 10 a.m. Friday.
Workers were seen working on homes trying to repair roof damage.
Over in the new 55+ community called Regency at Avenir in Palm Beach Gardens, 140 mph winds lifted a construction dumpster up in the air and it landed on someone's home.
A WPTV viewer, Shaundra Gallogly, emailed us and said this was her mom's house and she's OK but the damage was significant, after the intensity of those winds plopped the heavy dumpster onto the home.
Security camera footage WPTV collected showed a screen ripped open, debris flying around and plants waving back and forth.
WPTV First Alert Weather Chief Meteorologist Steve Weagle talked to the National Weather Service and they said for our area, they've never seen anything like it personally.
"Have you ever seen damage like this in a tornado?" asked Weagle.
"In my experience, I've never surveyed a tornado with this much damage and the severity of the damage. For South Florida, EF3s are very rare," said Robert Molleda. "It's probably been many years since we've had an A-rated EF3 tornado here in South Florida."
WATCH: Interview with NWS meteorologist Robert Molleda
WPTV spoke with a homeowner in Palm Beach Gardens Friday morning, who said she hunkered down with her nearly 1-year-old and a dog in their closet.
"So, the baby was amused, but the situation was intense. I didn't even get an alert on my phone, but a bunch of neighbors texted and kind of said, 'Hey, it's coming from Publix,' like this is real," she said. "So, we went in the closet under our stairs and that's where we kind of rode it out with the dog and the baby."

PALM BEACH GARDENS — The Publix super market rising in Avenir in western Palm Beach Gardens will be demolished after a tornado spawned by Hurricane Milton tore through it Wednesday afternoon, the city said Friday.
The store was three weeks out from opening when the EF3 tornado, carrying winds of about 140 mph, struck it just before 5 p.m. as Milton neared landfall on Florida's Gulf Coast.
The tornado left gaping holes through the supermarket's roof and cracked its foundations.
Publix will rebuild the market, said Candice Temple, the city’s communications director. The timeline of opening is unknown at this point, she added. Publix did not immediately comment Friday on the future of the building.
“The City will be working with representatives and will expedite permitting,” Temple wrote in a statement. “We will be doing whatever we can to make sure the process is not delayed on our end.”

A rare EF-3 tornado tore through the Avenir community in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida on October 9, 2024, as Hurricane “Milton” unleashed a tornado outbreak across Florida.
A powerful EF-3 tornado tore through Palm Beach Gardens on October 9, ripping off roofs and causing widespread damage. With winds of 225 km/h (140 mph), the tornado lifted a construction dumpster into the air and tossed it on top of a home in Regency Community at Avenir.
“I’ve never surveyed a tornado with this much damage and severity. EF-3 tornadoes are very rare in South Florida,” said NWS Meteorologist Robert Molleda. “It’s probably been many years since we’ve had an EF-3-rated tornado here in South Florida,” he added.
Several new homes in the Avenir community were damaged by the tornado which ripped off concrete block walls and large sections of the roofs from homes. People were seen putting tarpaulin over their damaged roofs once the storm had passed.
The tornado had a long track with its starting and end locations still unknown. The EF-3 rating of the tornado is still preliminary as it is based on just one neighborhood of Palm Beach Gardens which was among the hardest hit. A multi-day survey is needed to assign a final rating.
The tornado was part of a larger tornado outbreak triggered by Hurricane Milton, which made landfall near Siesta Key as a Category 3 hurricane at around 20:30 local time on October 9.
NWS offices in Miami, Tampa Bay, and Melbourne collectively issued 98 Tornado Warnings on October 9, the most ever recorded for a single day in Florida’s history. NWS Miami alone issued 55 warnings, breaking the previous record of 37 warnings in a single day, set in 2022 during Hurricane Ian.
According to the NWS, 126 Tornado Warnings were issued on October 10 by NWS offices in Florida. This was the second-highest number of Tornado Warnings ever issued in the United States on a single day.
So far, only 5 to 7 tornadoes have been confirmed by the NWS through photographic or video evidence but no EF ratings are final as more surveying is needed to determine the actual number of tornadoes. Although there are reports of over 150 tornadoes, they are yet to be confirmed by authorities.
Tornadoes also spawned at the I-75 highway which was the main route taken by people trying to evacuate the region due to Milton.
So far, Milton has caused over 21 fatalities, with at least 20 deaths reported in Florida and 1 in Campeche, Mexico. As of October 12, over 1.7 million people are experiencing power outages due to Hurricane Milton’s impact.

As the winds increase and radically shift direction as the tornado sweeps through, the patio door fractures.
The National Weather Service in Miami gave the tornado a preliminary rating of EF-3 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale, with estimated peak wind speeds of 140 mph. But the agency said their storm survey is still incomplete, and the rating may adjust as they learn more about the damage.
DEATH TOLL FROM HURRICANE MILTON RISES AS FLORIDA PICKS UP THE PIECES FROM THE STORM'S DESTRUCTION
The rating is significant, particularly as less than 1% of tornadoes produced by hurricanes are given that high of a rating, according to FOX Weather Meteorologist Stephen Morgan.
"These tornadoes were more energetic because Milton was starting the early stages of becoming a non-tropical system," Morgan said.
He noted that ahead of Milton making landfall, the jet stream was injecting energy into the hurricane. Dry air was also present, which rose and twisted. Altogether, the elements were those often seen during a tornado outbreak in the spring.
"All of these elements combined – to have that with a landfalling hurricane is just not something you see," he added.
The destruction caused by the tornado was captured by FOX Weather Meteorologist Kendall Smith, who reported from Palm Beach Gardens on Friday morning.
The National Weather Service office in Miami confirmed that a tornado with maximum speeds of 140 mph tore through the southeast Florida community of Palm Beach Gardens on Wednesday, ahead of Hurricane Milton's landfall. FOX Weather Meteorologist Kendall Smith reports from Palm Beach Gardens.
She noted the power of the tornado as it tore off a motorized gate at the entrance of a neighborhood, blew furniture from a home’s living room into the backyard and showed palm trees uprooted and knocked over across pathways.
"The scenes of devastation are a lot more reminiscent as to what we’d see in the Plains," she said.
As of Thursday, the National Weather Service confirmed that Milton spawned at least five tornadoes, with the number likely to rise as 126 Tornado Warnings were issued on Wednesday – the most warnings issued statewide in one day.
Combined with the tornadoes it produced, Milton has caused at least 17 deaths across Florida.
